Excision of Self Healed Over in Growth, a Lasting Message Carved Into Skin.
A recounting of an experience leaving a lasting message. The removal of substance to cause growth. A painful process leaving behind a bleeding vessel, which once healed left a permanent impression with stronger skin. Excision of self, healed over in growth. A lasting message carved in skin.
Beyond the emotions that were the catalyst for the collection, the exploration of graphic conveyed with texture is the directing thought behind the design elements making up this collection. Plastisol inks recreating the sheen that comes from the healing over of damaged skin, branding embossed with layered inks. This exploration of texture is a rudimentary execution of an idea that will be explored further in future collections, along with the recounting of Nigerian culture through reference.
